Fund raising teaches several things. One is responsibility. If the Scouts are responsible for funding their own activities they’re more likely to care about the program. Budgeting and handling money also teaches responsibility.

Scout and Parent Safety Reminders
  • Always wear your Scout uniform
  • Always smile and introduce yourself
  • Always tell the customer why you are selling
  • Know the different kinds of popcorn you are selling
  • Always say "Thank you"
  • Always walk on the sidewalk or driveway (not on the customer's grass).
  • Always sell with another Scout or another adult
  • Always have a clean order form and a pen
  • Always make a copy of your order form
  • Never ever enter anyone's house
  • Never sell after dark unless you are with an adult
  • Don't carry large amounts of cash
